PHS students at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Atlanta

PHS FBLA team advances to National finals

Posted July 31, 2023

Eight members of the Plymouth High School chapter of Future Business Leaders of America competed at the National Leadership Conference held June 26-29 in Atlanta.

The team of Claire Nelson, Grace Poppe, and Allison Steiner became the first PHS students to make it to a final round at Nationals, placing 15th out of 78 groups in the Business Financial Plan event.

Other Panthers competing at Nationals were:

  • Emmitt Huhn: Introduction to Business Concepts
  • Sophia Suchocki: Organizational Leadership
  • Ben Harpstead, Wyatt Herzog, & Nehl Kremer: Entrepreneurship

While at the conference, students also participated in several workshops, went sightseeing, and visited the World of Coca-Cola, The Center for Human and Civil Rights, and the Georgia Aquarium.

At FBLA regionals earlier this year, PHS qualified 62 students in 38 events to advance to the State Leadership Conference, where 20 PHS students in 11 events were recognized at the Awards of Excellence program. PHS recently was honored with a Gold Level of the National Champion Chapter Award.

Plymouth FBLA advisers are Todd Williams, Joel Williams, and Wendy Nasgovitz.
