FBLA at Regionals

Congratulations to the Plymouth High School Future Business Leaders of America chapter for placing second at the Region VI Leadership Conference, and to the 61 PHS students who qualified for State in 38 events!

More than 600 students from 24 schools participated in workshops and competed in a variety of business events at the regional conference, held Feb. 4 at Dodgeland High School in Juneau. PHS students competed in 57 of the 66 events.

The top eight students in each event were recognized during the awards ceremony, and the top three qualify to compete at the State Leadership Conference, which will be April 17-18 in Green Bay.

Plymouth FBLA advisers are Todd Williams, Joel Williams, and Wendy Nasgovitz.

PHS Momentum at Logan Showcase

Congratulations to PHS Momentum show choir, which was second runner-up at the Logan Showcase held Feb. 11 in La Crosse, as the choir made it to the finals for only the second time in school history!

PHS also brought home the Best Crew Award, and junior Zebadiah Schermacher received a Best in Show award.

The public can see Momentum perform as the opening act for Wisconsin Singers at 7:30 p.m. Friday Feb. 17 in the PHS Auditorium. Reserved-seat tickets cost $15 for adults and $10 for students, and are available in the PHS office as well as at the door.

Riverview at MathCounts

Eight Riverview students participated in the MathCounts competition held Feb. 4 at Acuity Insurance! The students spent the day working through several rounds of the competition, a nationwide math contest for students in grades 6-8.

Four Riverview students (Olivia Kohlman, Maximo Troka, Ethan Rau, and Liam Huhn) competed as a team, plus four others (Landon Ross, Greta Schamberger, Zoey Dobbertin, and Jaiden Krueger) competed as individuals.

The students are members of the Riverview Math Club, which is coached by Jessica Barrington and Billie Rau and meets weekly from October through April.

Both routines are headed to the Wisconsin Association of Cheer/Pom Coaches Varsity Dance State Competition on Saturday Feb. 4 in La Crosse.
