Community Ed & Rec offering youth & family activities

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering a variety of activities for kids and families this spring!
Friday Playgroup
For children of all ages with a parent or other adult. Join other families at this parent-supervised free play. A brief activity will be available.
Details: 9:30-11am 1st & 3rd Fridays April 17-May 15 (April 17, May 1 & 15) at Plymouth Youth Center, 609 North St.
Fee: Free, but pre-register by April 13
Parent/Child Safe Splash - NEW!
This structured program for ages 5-6 years builds water confidence through foundational skills. A parent or other adult is in the water with each child, offering support and encouragement as they explore new swimming techniques together.

Details: 6-6:45pm Tuesdays April 21-May 26
Fee: $38/pair through April 13, then $48
Just a Little Garden for Kids
For grades 1-6. Create your own personal garden to take home! Participants will decorate a clay pot, then fill it with plants of their choosing (flowers, veggies or herbs), and learn how to care for the plants.

Details: 2-3:30pm Saturday May 16 in the PHS Food Science & Agriculture Center
Fee: $26 through May 11, then $36
Home Alone
For grades 3-6. Children who spend time home without an adult will gain a knowledge of safety concepts. They will learn to use 911, what to do if the lights go out, and how to handle small emergencies.

Details: 4-5:30pm Tuesday April 21 & Wednesday April 22 in the Horizon Library
Fee: $26 through April 13, then $36
Babysitting Clinic
For grades 5-8 (ages 10+). Learn to be a better babysitter and earn a certificate of completion to show potential clients.
Instructor: Denise Roth
Details: 3-5pm Tuesday April 28 & Wednesday April 29 at Riverview Library
Fee: $29 through April 20, then $39
Kayaking
This introductory class is for those new to this water sport. Open to those ages 10 & up, so families are welcome!
Instructor: Andrew Arentsen
Details: 5-6:30pm Tuesdays May 5-19 on the Mullet River
Fee: $26/person through April 27, then $36; contact us for a family rate. Includes kayak (limit 250 lbs), paddles, and lifejacket
Youth Center
For grades 5-8. Located next to Riverview Middle School, the center is open after school until 5pm on regular school days with at least one adult present at all times.
Details: 2:45-5pm school days; next to Riverview
Fee: $16/month
How do I register?
- Online: If possible, please register online via MyRec, which carries no service fee and offers immediate confirmation. You can pay online with a credit card to hold your spot, send a check by mail, or pay in person with cash, check, or credit card. (You first will need to create a MyRec account, if you have not already done so; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our offerings going forward.)
- In person: You can register in our office, where we will help set up your MyRec account and can accept cash, check, and credit cards. Park in the visitor lot in front of Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., and enter Door 18 on the south end of the building. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
- By mail: While MyRec registration is preferred, you still can print a registration form to mail with a check to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
