Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering a wide variety of group fitness classes, aquatic opportunities, and recreation activities this spring!

Group fitness classes

Cycle & Core

Enjoy an endless variety of intervals of high cardio bouts on the bike and core strength exercises off the bike to improve strength and endurance.

Fee: $34 (seniors* $27) through April 6, then $44 (seniors* $37)

Empower: Women's Weightlifting

Join an empowering journey into strength training designed specifically for women. Whether you’re new to lifting or looking to refine your technique, this class offers a small group and a supportive environment to build confidence and strength. Learn to use fixed-range-of-motion machines, cable machines, squat racks, and free weights. Embrace the benefits of weightlifting – improved metabolism, increased bone density, and enhanced muscle tone – while fostering a sense of community with like-minded women.

Jiu-Jitsu

Learn no-gi (no uniform) jiu-jitsu! This grappling martial art is great for exercise and building skills, as well as for real-world self-defense. Learn basic movements and do live scenario drilling. No experience necessary; all levels welcome! This is a co-ed class. Must be 18 or older or 16 if paired with a parent.

Les Mills BodyPump™

BodyPump™ is a total-body strength workout that shapes all major muscle groups, increases core strength, improves bone health, and leaves you feeling strong and fit! The low-weight, high-repetition training of BodyPump™ is based on a formula called The Rep Effect™, which utilizes time under tension and fatigue to generate muscular adaptation. The fusion of science-backed moves, motivating instructors, and great music helps you achieve much more than you would on your own.

Les Mills BodyPump Heavy™

BodyPump Heavy™ is tempo-based weightlifting that switches on your metabolic engine to build lean muscle like nothing else. Drawing on traditional lifting techniques, each class challenges strength, builds lean muscle, and drives measurable performance gains. It’s simple to do, and the slow tempo with lots of recovery time allows for expert coaching, so you master form and technique. Driven by iconic music and group energy, it turns traditional weightlifting into a fun, social, and addictive experience.

Recovery Lab - NEW!

This 30-minute recovery and mobility class is designed to help you move better and feel better. Focus is on joint mobility, flexibility, and muscle release to support performance and improve overall movement quality.

Details: 6:15-6:45am Wednesdays April 8-May 20 in the PHS Studio
Fee: $23 (seniors* $18) through April 6, then $33 (seniors* $28)

SHiNE

This dance fitness workout utilizes current hit music and choreography to help participants feel confident and strong. High-cardio exercise combines jazz, ballet, and hip hop moves with calisthenics in a HIIT format for a full-body workout. Come dance with us!

Stretch & Core

This 45-minute Pilates-inspired class will take you through core-strengthening exercises to enhance overall flexibility. Get strength training for your core, with varying abdominal and low-back exercises.

Total Body Training

Increase heart rate with low- to medium-impact intervals using weights, bosu balls, resistance bands, and stability balls, while strengthening the muscles of the core.

Fee: $60 (seniors* $48) through April 6 then $70 (seniors* $58) OR any 7 classes for $32 (seniors* $25) through April 6, then $42 (seniors* $35)

Gentle Yoga

This class focuses on calming the mind and body. Slowly and mindfully move through poses, emphasizing breath and alignment, while building core muscle and relieving stress. Appropriate for all levels.

Vinyasa Yoga

This all-levels yoga class focuses on breath and movement. Challenge your body by toning muscle and building core strength through a sequence of poses. Some yoga experience is recommended, although modifications will be suggested.

Zumba - NEW!

This high-energy, Latin-inspired dance fitness program blends fast and slow rhythms for a full-body cardiovascular workout.

Aquatics options

Deep Water

This motivational class uses water resistance for a great workout. You must be comfortable in deep water. You can use noodles or cuffs.

Fee: $51 (seniors* $40) through April 6, then $61 ($50). Optional: $40 water cuffs as a belt or on ankles

Water Walking

This self-paced, self-directed class in shallow water is perfect for those with limited mobility. Just walk at your own pace! Held at the same time as Deep Water, so help is nearby.

Adult Swim Lessons

An adult instructor helps you feel more comfortable in the pool.

Kayaking

This introductory class is for those new to this water sport. Open to those ages 10 & up, so families are welcome!
Instructor: Andrew Arentsen
Details: 5-6:30pm Tuesdays May 5-19 on the Mullet River
Fee: $26/person through April 27, then $36; contact us for a family rate. Includes kayak (limit 250 lbs), paddles, and lifejacket

*Senior rate is available to Plymouth School District residents ages 62 and above.

How do I register?

  • Online: If possible, please register online via MyRec, which carries no service fee and offers immediate confirmation. You can pay online with a credit card to hold your spot, send a check by mail, or pay in person with cash, check, or credit card. (You first will need to create a MyRec account, if you have not already done so; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our offerings going forward.)
  • In person: You can register in our office, where we will help set up your MyRec account and can accept cash, check, and credit cards. Park in the visitor lot in front of Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., and enter Door 18 on the south end of the building. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays (closed April 3 for the holiday).
  • By mail: While MyRec registration is preferred, you still can print a registration form to mail with a check to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
