Winter field trips expand student learning
Posted March 23, 2026
Plymouth School District students enjoyed many field trips this winter. A big thank-you to our families, parent organizations, and other donors who help make these outings possible!
Plymouth High School
- About 35 students attended the United Against Hate Conference on Feb. 26 at McFarland High School.
- About 15 members of HOSA-Future Health Professionals visited Concordia University on March 3.
- Hi-Lights staff members attended Journalism Day on March 17 at Fiserv Forum.
Riverview Middle School
- Fifth-graders visited Discovery World and experienced hands-on learning of scientific concepts.
- The seventh-grade choir went to Rocky Knoll Health Care Center to sing for residents in mid-February.
- A select group of seventh- and eighth-grade choir members went to Rocky Knoll to perform their Solo & Ensemble pieces for residents – and to get their jitters out while enjoying performing for others.
- A group of eighth-graders in the Pegasus program attended the CESA 7 Great Decisions Project held March 12 at UW-Green Bay. At the event, supported by the Foreign Policy Association, students read an article about Africa, listened to several speakers, toured the campus, and tried foods prepared by a woman from Ghana. A Riverview student whose parents are from Cameroon shared information about her family.
Elementary schools
- Fourth-graders in the Pegasus program attended the CESA 7 STEM retreat at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, where they learned about inertia, aerodynamic design, safety colors in railroad travel, and the Doppler effect. The culminating activity was to design a cardboard train engine to withstand being struck by four bowling balls.
- Fairview and Horizon third-graders attended a Sheboygan Symphony performance March 10 at the Stefanie Weill Center in Sheboygan. Students heard and listened to different instruments in the orchestra, sang, and danced in the auditorium.
