Summer opportunities abound for students

The Plymouth School District offers a number of exciting activities to keep students learning, exploring, and moving during the summer months!

Summer School

Plymouth Summer School will offer dozens of classes – at no charge to families! – for district students currently in grades 4K-11. All classes will meet 8-11:45 a.m. Monday-Thursday June 15-July 16 at Plymouth High School.

Squiggles & Wiggles Preschool

Community Education & Recreation again will offer this fun introduction to school, taught by a DPI-certified teacher, for potty-trained children ages 3 and 4 (must be 3 by June 1). It will start one week later than Plymouth Summer School and run from 8:30-11 a.m. Monday-Thursday June 22-July 16 at Horizon Elementary School.

Youth athletic camps

Summer athletic camps for students will include:

  • Girls Basketball: This camp for girls currently in grades 3-8 will be from June 8 to 12.
  • Boys Basketball: There will be two sessions for boys currently in grades 2-8: June 15-18 and/or June 22-25.
  • Tennis: Camp for those currently in grades 6-8 will be July 13-17. Camp for those currently in grades 1-5 will be July 20-24.
  • Football: This camp for students currently in grades 4-7 will be July 13-15.
  • Volleyball: This camp for students currently in grades 2-11 will be July 14-16.

Summer Child Care

Community Education & Recreation offers all-day summer care for children currently in 4K through fourth grade at Horizon Elementary School. Two age-appropriate programs are available 6 a.m.-6 p.m. (except when Summer School is in session 8-11:45 a.m. Monday-Thursday June 15-July 16):

  • Berry Branch: For children currently in 4K or 5K; $75 registration fee plus $5.50/hour
  • Extra Mile: For children currently in grades 1-4; $75 registration fee plus $5/hour

Community Ed & Rec summer offerings

Community Education & Recreation is planning numerous classes and other activities for youth and families during its summer session, which runs from June through August.

Learn more: Summer registration will open at 11 a.m. Wednesday May 27 via the MyRec online registration system. You can preview offerings beginning Tuesday May 26 via MyRec or by picking up a printed Summer Activity Guide in the office or at locations throughout the community.
