Community Ed & Rec offering wellness classes

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering SHiNE, Intro to Herbal Medicine, and two new wellness classes this winter!
Happy Healthy Hearts - NEW!
Improve your heart health while reducing the risk of stroke or heart attack with evidence-based medical information, practical lifestyle strategies, and interactive cooking & learning activities. Be empowered to understand risks, adopt healthier habits, and recognize warning signs early.
Instructor: Kate Pearce, RN, Nutrition Specialist, Wellness Coach
Details: 6-8:15pm Thursday February 5 in PHS Room C105
Fee: $54 through January 26, then $64
Bring: one heart-healthy fruit, vegetable, or nut to share in discussion. Also, if you know your most recent blood pressure and cholesterol readings, that would be helpful for discussion.

Beginner/High Beginner Line Dancing - NEW!
Have fun and increase heart rate with low impact line dancing!

Details: 9:15-10:15am Saturdays February 7-28 in the PHS Studio
Fee: $32 (seniors* $25) through February 2, then $42 (seniors* seniors $35)

SHiNE
This dance fitness workout utilizes current hit music and choreography to help participants feel confident and strong. High-cardio exercise combines jazz, ballet, and hip hop moves with calisthenics in a HIIT format for a full-body workout. Come dance with us!

Details: 6-6:45pm Thursdays February 19-March 26 in the PHS Studio
Fee: $28 (seniors* $22) through February 9, then $38 (seniors* $32)

Introduction to Herbal Medicine
Dive into the healing power of nature in this introductory course on botanical medicine, learning the medicinal properties of a variety of herbs and how to best prepare them. Make infusions, teas, tinctures, and a simple oxymel syrup in this hands-on class.

Details: 6-8:30pm Wednesday March 11 in C105
Fee: $58 through March 2, then $68

How do I register?
- Online: If possible, please register online via MyRec, which carries no service fee and offers immediate confirmation. (You first will need to create a MyRec account, if you have not already done so; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our offerings going forward.)
- In person: You can register in our office, where we will help set up your MyRec account and can accept cash, check, and credit cards. Park in the visitor lot in front of Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., and enter Door 18 on the south end of the building. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
- By mail: While MyRec registration is preferred, you still can print a registration form to mail with a check to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
