Community Ed & Rec winter activities for kids & families

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is bringing back Saturday Family Swims and offering Child Swim Lessons, Parent/Tot Aquatics, two Family Rock Climbs, plus Lifting and Tennis Open Play for middle-schoolers!
Middle-School Lifting
For grades 7-8. Learn the basics of athletic-based fitness training and develop speed, explosiveness, agility, strength, & conditioning. Students who complete the class and pass the Free-Weight Safety Test can use the PHS Fitness Center independently.

Details: 2:45-4pm Mon/Wed or Tue/Thu Jan 26-Mar 6 at Riverview
Fee: Free, but you must register in advance

Middle-School Tennis Open Play
For grades 6-8. Learn the basics of tennis (forehand, backhand, serving) or keep advancing your skills (lobbing, poaching, volleying) to get ready for the spring tennis season!

Details: 12:30-2:30pm Sat Feb 7-Mar 21 in the Fairview Gym
Fee: $45 through Jan 26, then $55
Bring: your own racquet and water

Saturday Family Swims
Children must be accompanied by an adult. One lap lane available. Bring towels.
Details: 1-3pm Sat Feb 7 & Mar 7
Fee: $8/family each swim, payable at the door (Door 13)
Register: No registration necessary, but arrive by 1:30pm
Family Rock Climb & Open Gym Play
For families with children ages 5 & up. Climb the indoor vertical wall, which has 4 routes of varying difficulty. While waiting to climb, play in the gym.
Instructor: Carly Lenz
Details: 1-2:30pm Sat Feb 14 and/or Mar 21 in Riverview Gym
Fee: $13/person/climb through Feb 9, then $23; contact us for a family rate

Child Swim Lessons: Level 4
We follow the American Red Cross courses. Children must be at least 50” tall and at least 6 years old. Children must have passed the previous level before advancing to the next level.
Details: 9:30-10:15am Sat Feb 28-Apr 25 (except Apr 4)
Fee: $46 through Feb 23, then $56

Parent/Tot Aquatics
This structured program is designed to establish a comfort level in the water for children ages 6 months-5 years. Adults are in the water with their children, so this class offers a unique opportunity to bond.

Pool: 6-6:45pm Tue Mar 3-Apr 14 (except March 31)
Fee: $39/pair through Feb 23, then $49
• Thursday classes
Orientation: 6pm Thu Feb 26 in the PHS addition foyer
Pool: 6-6:45pm Thu Mar 5-Apr 16 (except April 2)
Fee: $39/pair through Feb 23 then $49

Note: The Saturday morning class is full.
Youth Center
For grades 5-8. The Youth Center is a safe after-school option with adult supervision. Students can participate in optional organized activities, do homework, or just hang out with friends.
Details: 2:45-5pm school days at 609 North St. (next to Riverview Middle School)
Fee: $32/trimester or $16/month

How do I register?
- Online: If possible, please register online via MyRec, which carries no service fee and offers immediate confirmation. (You first will need to create a MyRec account, if you have not already done so; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our offerings going forward.)
- In person: You can register in our office, where we will help set up your MyRec account and can accept cash, check, and credit cards. Park in the visitor lot in front of Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., and enter Door 18 on the south end of the building. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays.
- By mail: While MyRec registration is preferred, you still can print a registration form to mail with a check to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
