A big thank-you to the dozens of community members who shared their time and expertise with Plymouth School District students this fall!

Plymouth High School

  • Randy Butters from Mud Hole Custom Tackle guided the PHS Wildlife & Natural Resources class through a six-session rod-building activity in November. During this hands-on opportunity, students created their own custom rods and earned a certificate in Basic Custom Rod Building.
  • Plymouth Fire Department visited PHS during Fire Safety Week.
  • Plymouth Public Library staff visited PHS to highlight teen programming available at the library.

Riverview Middle School

  • Dave Majerus, who delivers Friday Backpack food and provides snacks throughout the year, works with St. Vincent de Paul and the Plymouth Food Pantry to help families get whatever they need.
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters lunch buddies come in every week to meet with students.
  • PHS FBLA members served as mentors and the following community members served as judges for Mini Business World on Nov. 25:

Elementary schools

  • WPPI Energy brought an educational assembly to Parkview on Oct. 1.
  • Millpore Sigma visited Fairview third-graders in October to talk about being a scientist and teach about chemical reactions. Students were able to suit up in gloves, lab coats, and glasses and help conduct chemical reactions with fizzy pumpkin playdough.
  • PHS FFA students taught district 3rd-graders all about pumpkins Oct. 24.
