Community Ed & Rec planning winter activities

Posted December 8, 2025

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation will offer 48 learning and wellness opportunities for all ages this winter, including 7 new classes!

What is new for Winter 2026?

  • Beginner/High Beginner Line Dancing: Have fun and increase your heart rate with low-impact line dancing!
  • Everyday Athlete: This all-levels class blends functional mobility work with strength-building exercises to help prepare your muscles and joints to move more efficiently and safely — in your workouts as well as in daily life.
  • Les Mills BodyPump Heavy: Tempo-based weightlifting switches on your metabolic engine to build lean muscle like nothing else. Drawing on traditional lifting techniques, each class challenges strength, builds lean muscle, and drives measurable performance gains. The slow tempo with lots of recovery periods allows for expert coaching, so you master form and technique.
  • Intermediate Pickleball Instruction & Play: This class will sharpen technique through focused drills on shot placement, footwork, and strategic gameplay. Players will build confidence by applying these skills in guided rallies and point-based scenarios designed to elevate overall performance.
  • Real Estate for Home Buyers: This workshop is designed to guide first-time homebuyers through every step of the home-purchasing process: basics of budgeting, understanding credit, mortgage loan options, down-payment assistance programs, preapproval process, what to expect during home showings, how to make a competitive offer, and the role of related professionals.
  • Happy Healthy Hearts: Improve your heart health while reducing the risk of stroke or heart attack with evidence-based medical information, practical lifestyle strategies, and interactive cooking and learning activities. You will be empowered to understand risks, adopt healthier habits, and recognize warning signs early.
  • Introduction to Fresh Pasta: This hands-on workshop focuses on crafting fresh pasta at home. You’ll learn the time-honored techniques of mixing, kneading, rolling, and shaping fresh pasta from scratch – no fancy machines required. We will work through two simple pasta recipes from start to finish, create a simple tomato sauce, and share a meal together of our fresh pasta.
