Meet our new faculty!

The Plymouth School District is welcoming 15 new faculty members for the 2023-24 school year!

 

Noelle Allison

Fourth-grade teacher at Horizon Elementary School
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education from UW-Oshkosh
Experience: I was the 1st grade and then 4th grade teacher at St. John the Baptist in Plymouth from 2013-2018 and then the 4th grade teacher from 2021-2023.
Interests/other information: I enjoy traveling around the world with my family, reading, and taking care of my vegetable garden.

Tianna Engel

Special education teacher at Riverview Middle School
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education & Special Education from UW-Stevens Point; master’s degree in Education from UW-Stevens Point
Experience: I previously worked in the Fond du Lac School District as LTSE 3rd Grade Teacher and as Cross Categorical Special Ed Teacher
Interests/other information: I love to run! I completed my 9th half marathon just this week! I enjoy working out and spending time outside on hikes or walks. I also just got married on Aug. 11.

Nicole Goeser

Education: bachelor’s degree from UW-Stevens Point; master’s degree from Marian University
Experience: This will be Nicole’s first year of teaching.
 

Mrs. Kendra Gonzalez

English teacher at Plymouth High School
Education: Bachelor’s degree from UW-Green Bay
Experience: I am looking forward to my first year as an English Teacher at PHS!
Interests/other information: My husband and I love to hike and take on life as one big adventure. When we are not adventuring you will usually find us at home relaxing and getting in some quality time together.

Mrs. Sammy Gumm

First-grade teacher at Parkview Elementary School
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Services and Leadership from UW-Oshkosh; master’s degree in Education from Marian University
Experience: I worked for the Hartford School District for about a year and a half as a full-time long-term substitute teacher. During my time I subbed in 4K-8th grade classrooms, but I was primarily in elementary school rooms. I completed my student teaching last fall at Lincoln Elementary School in Hartford in first grade. Then, I finished the year in a long-term role as a fifth-grade teacher at Lincoln Elementary. Prior to education, I worked for the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County and was the Unit Director for the Hartford locations for four years.
Interests/other information: My family consists of my husband and myself. We enjoy spending our time outdoors, going for hikes at Devils Lake, Pike Lake, Lions Den, or for walks around our neighborhood. I also enjoy baking and cooking.

Mr. David Hickmann

School social worker for the Plymouth School District
Education: Bachelor's degree in Social Work from UW-Eau Claire; master's degree in Social Work from UW-Madison
Experience: This will be my 7th year as a School Social Worker. I previously worked for Oostburg School DIstrict and Howards Grove School District. Before working in schools, I worked as a Child Protection Social Worker and for a couple non-profits in the Madison area serving at-risk youth and providing parent education.
Interests/other information: I love spending time with my family, playing and coaching sports, and completing home projects!

Mrs. Emily Klotzbach

Special education teacher at Fairview Elementary School
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education/Regular Education from UW-Oshkosh
Experience: 7 years at Sheboygan Falls Elementary School as an EC Special Education Teacher
Interests/other information: My husband and I live in Elkhart Lake with our 18-month-old daughter and are expecting our second child in April 2024. We enjoy working in our garden and tending our small hobby farm.

Mr. Matthew Olig

Occupational therapist for the Plymouth School District
Education: Graduate of Plymouth High School; bachelor’s degree in Rehabilitation Science from Concordia University Wisconsin; master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Concordia University Wisconsin
Experience: 2.5 years at a psychiatric hospital and 1 year in a private pediatric clinic
Interests/other information: I enjoy nature and playing sports along with spending time with my family (wife and miniature golden doodle named Reggie).

Ms. Jessica Prokopy

Special education teacher at Riverview Middle School
Education: Bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater
Experience: For the last 10 years, I've been a Special Education teacher at the School District of Waukesha. Prior to that, I worked at Slinger Middle School and Whitewater Middle School.
Interests/other information: I have two daughters who keep me busy! We love to spend time outside and play with our dog, Strawberry.

Mrs. Carisa Resimius

Special education teacher at Fairview Elementary School
Education: Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation from UW-La Crosse; currently taking  classes through the CESA 6 Residency in Teacher Education program to obtain a K-12 Cross Categorical Special Education license
Experience: Instructional Assistant at Sheboygan Falls Elementary School for the past 5 years; Parent Educator with the Family Resource Center of Sheboygan County for 2 years prior to that (worked with school districts completing developmental screenings for families)
Interests/other information: I live in Plymouth with my husband and three children. I have two dogs (dachshunds named Milo and Olive). I enjoy spending time with family, watching my kids’ sports/activities, DIY projects, and reading.

Mrs. Shawna Sabourin

School psychologist for the Plymouth School District
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UW-La Crosse; master’s degree in Educational Psychology and Educational Specialist in School Psychology from UW-Milwaukee
Experience: I worked as a school psychology in Kiel for 7 years, then in Reedsville for 2 years. I switched things up and was a Dean of Students for Franklin Elementary in Manitowoc for 1 year and found my way here.
Interests/other information: My husband and I live in New Holstein with our 2 daughters, Avery and Austyn, and our dog, Von. I enjoy spending time with my family and watching mindless reality TV.

Education: bachelor’s degree from Marian University; master’s degree from National Louis University
Experience: This will be Michele’s 24th year of teaching.
 

Mrs. Jennifer Sims

Fourth-grade teacher at Fairview Elementary School
Education: Bachelor’s degree from University of Minnesota-Moorhead; master’s degree from St. Mary’s University-Winona, Minn.
Experience: I taught in Austin, Minn., for 20 years. I have taught grades 1, 4, 6 and was an instructional coach.
Interests/other information: Boating, traveling, reading, biking, and having fun with my family (including our two dogs)

Mr. Brennen Ward

Physical education teacher at Parkview Elementary School
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education with a minor in Adaptive Physical Education from UW-Oshkosh
Experience: I worked as a substitute teacher in Appleton and Kaukauna since graduating in December 2021
Interests/other information: This is my 11th season coaching football; I am currently the Offensive Line coach at Appleton East High School. I also coach girls basketball as well. I like to be outdoors and competing in any kind of game and going to sporting events (Packers, Badgers, Brewers).

Mrs. Casie Winter

Third-grade teacher at Fairview Elementary School
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education from UW-Green Bay; master’s degree in Reading Education from Concordia University Wisconsin
Experience: 10 years in the Manitowoc Public School District (taught 6th and 3rd grade) 5 years in Howards Grove Public School District (taught 7th, 3rd, and 2nd grade)
Interests/other information: I am married to my husband, Marc. We have two children, Marc Jr (13) and Caylee (7). I like to go for walks on the Old Plank Road Trail, and I like to practice golfing.

In new roles

The following staff are not new to our district, but will be in new roles for the 2023-24 school year:

  • Todd Hunt: now Parkview Elementary School principal, formerly Fairview third-grade teacher, Riverview principal, Horizon principal, Cascade principal, Cascade teacher (Meet Mr. Hunt)
  • Chris Helmer: now Horizon Elementary School principal, formerly Fairview special education teacher (Meet Mr. Helmer)
  • Jason Cole: PHS alternative education teacher, formerly Parkview principal. Mr. Cole holds a bachelor’s degree from UW-Whitewater and a master’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University; this will be his 11th year of teaching.
