We are very proud of these student and staff accomplishments!
Congrats to the Plymouth High School team that was selected to compete at the state level in the 11th annual Whipping Up Wellness, Wisconsin Student Chef Competition!
Culinary students from around the state were invited to develop a nutritious, student-friendly recipe featuring local foods that can be incorporated easily into the school food service program.
The PHS team of Alaina Jones, Addyson McCoy, Savannah Mendenhall, Emily Sabel, and Mariah Smeltzer was named one of five finalists and invited to prepare their recipe for Apple BBQ Chicken Wrap on May 18 at Madison Area Technical College. Dishes were judged on taste, student appeal, presentation, and creativity.
“The students did perfect,” said PHS culinary arts teacher Marcie Zimmerman. “Judges commented on how the flavors were not like BBQ, but were very original and that they loved the dish. They loved the crunch of carrots in it, and they thought the dish tasted great.”

Congratulations to the Plymouth High School students in Jake Sherman’s Panther Time for logging 180.5 community service hours this year – the most of any team – and to student McCartney Rooker who completed 89.5 hours!
PHS launched a community service graduation requirement, known as Panther Community Connection, at the beginning of this school year. Beginning with the Class of 2026, students must complete a total of 25 hours of community service while in high school.
In total, the freshman class did 558 service hours during the 2022-23 school year. They helped with landscaping, Sunday school, horse barns, fairgrounds, fun fairs, nursing homes, and in many other ways.
“This is a great start to our new service requirement,” said Laura Koebel, Community Connection coordinator. “Please be sure to check the database regularly for more service opportunities.”
