Meet the 2023 PHS class exemplar: Molly Trepanier

Posted May 30, 2023

Plymouth High School senior Molly Trepanier said the biggest things she’ll take from PHS are memories.

“From seemingly little things like laughing with friends, to football games and dances, to memorable class periods, there are so many different memories that we will have for the rest of our lives,” she said. “I’ve learned that memories are one of the few things that you will always have no matter what, so I've started to cherish them more.”

Molly plans to talk about memories in the remarks she will give as class exemplar during PHS Commencement Exercises on Sunday June 4. “My speech actually touches on those memories that we created throughout high school, while also thanking everything and everyone that helped us get to where we are today,” she said. “I don’t want to give too much away about my speech, though, so everyone will have to wait and see at graduation!”

Molly was chosen as class exemplar by a panel of adults, based on stellar academic work, extensive extracurricular involvement, and leadership skills. “It is such an honor to represent the Class of 2023 as the class exemplar,” she said. “I am so proud of how far everyone has come and can't wait to see this class’ success in the future.”

While at PHS, Molly was involved in many extracurriculars. She played volleyball all four years and was a team captain her senior year. She was voted National Honor Society president and organized the holiday food drive with a kickoff featuring former Green Bay Packer LeRoy Butler and a schoolwide lip dub as a reward. She was very involved in Team Panther during the past three years, as well as with FBLA, Student Council, trap team, forensics, math team, musical, and much more.

She also took a variety of classes at PHS. “My favorites were probably my independent studies with Mr. Gritt and other C-Section classes, as well as English and Spanish classes,” she said. “I loved having classes with Mr. Gritt, because we always had so much fun together and we worked on super-cool projects that I never thought I would be able to help create!”

In the fall, Molly plans to attend Auburn University in Alabama to major in hospitality management with a focus on event planning and possibly a minor in Spanish. “My end goal is to become an event planner and maybe one day own my own company,” she said.

As class exemplar, Molly receives the $5,000 Rhyan Family Class Exemplar Scholarship. Mr. Rhyan, a former Board of Education president, was a strong proponent of the class exemplar designation, and memorials given in his name contributed to a scholarship fund administered by the Plymouth Education Foundation.
