Schools offer many summer opportunities

Posted March 13, 2023

The Plymouth School District offers a number of exciting options to keep students learning, exploring, and moving during the summer months!

Summer School

The Plymouth School District will offer about 75 classes for students in kindergarten through high school, at no charge to families. While remedial courses are available, the vast majority allow students to explore topics of interest to them.

Summer School will run for five weeks from June 19 to July 20, with no classes Monday July 3 or Tuesday July 4. Summer School will be held from 8 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Thursday, with no classes on Fridays. Most classes will meet at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle; Early Childhood, Kindergarten Readiness, and K-1 Transition will meet at Parkview Elementary School, 500 Parkview Drive.

Students from other school districts and those who are homeschooled are welcome to attend our Summer School!

This fun introduction to school, taught by child-care staff with years of experience, coincides with Plymouth Summer School. Squiggles & Wiggles will meet from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays from June 19 to 29 and from July 10 to 20 (off the week of July 3) at Horizon Elementary School, 411 S. Highland Ave.

Three age-appropriate programs are available:

  • Mulberry Bush: For children 6 weeks to 4 years old. Located at Horizon Elementary School.
  • Berry Branch: For children who will be entering kindergarten or first grade in the fall. Located at Parkview.
  • Extra Mile: For children who will be entering second through fifth grades in the fall. Located at Riverview.

Care is available from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays at Mulberry Bush. The other programs are open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., except that no care is available when Summer School is in session so children may attend that program.
