Plymouth wins Railroad Museum STEAM competition

Posted March 6, 2023

Congratulations to the students from Fairview, Horizon, and Parkview elementary schools who participated in the recent National Railroad Museum CESA-7 GT Consortium STEAM Retreat!

Participants learned about mass, density, velocity, aerodynamics, sound, light, color, and safety from four National Railroad Museum experts. The students then applied this knowledge to build a train engine model with a small water balloon engineer that needed to survive a head-on crash and a side-impact crash from four bowling balls rolling down a ramp.

Plymouth Team 2 tied for champion, Plymouth Team 3 tied for reserve champion, and Plymouth Team 1 received honorable mention.
