Middle-school spring sports begin soon

Area middle-school students are encouraged to participate in Golf, Tennis, or Track & Field this spring!
These sports are open to all area students in grades 7 and 8, including those who are homeschooled or attending parochial schools.
Informational meetings are open to players and/or parents/guardians and will be held as indicated below at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle.
Track & Field
The Track & Field team represents Riverview in competition with area middle schools.
Info meeting: 3 p.m. Thursday March 12 in the Riverview Cafeteria
Registration: due Monday April 6 via MyRec
Practices: 3 to 4:30 p.m. school days beginning Tuesday April 7 on the Plymouth High School track*
Meets: April 20-May 11
Coaches: PHS teacher Kamie Gritt, Riverview teacher Tyler Gruett, and Stephanie Bruce

Golf
Golf offers students an opportunity to develop their skills.
Info meeting: 3 p.m. Tuesday March 24 in Riverview Room 217
Registration: due Monday April 20 via MyRec
Golfing: 3-5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 21 to May 26 at Evergreen Golf Course*
Coaches: Riverview teachers Dave Scheel and Maggie Brill

Tennis
The Tennis team represents Riverview in competition with area middle schools.
Info meeting: 3 p.m. Thursday April 9 in the Riverview Cafeteria
Registration: due Sunday April 12 via MyRec
Practices: 3 to 4:30 p.m. school days beginning Monday April 13 on the Plymouth High School tennis courts*
Meets: April 28-May 18

*Athletes can ride any bus from Riverview to PHS after school.
Registration
Students must be registered before they can participate, via the MyRec registration system. (Parents/guardians will need to create a MyRec account, if they do not already have one.) In addition, all participants must have a Physical Evaluation Form (Page 4) on file that was signed by a doctor based on an examination done no earlier than April 1, 2024. Fee is $30 per sport (plus a $50 greens fee for Golf).
