Riverview students selected for State Honors Music Project
Posted November 10, 2025
Congratulations to Riverview students Sydney Weber and Morgan Struve, selected to participate in the recent State Honors Music Project!
The State Honors Music Project offers musically talented students the opportunity to rehearse and perform with the nation’s finest conductors in a professional and disciplined setting.
Participants are chosen from highly competitive auditions held each spring, during which they perform a solo and demonstrate sight-reading ability. Sydney and Morgan were among the 54 middle-school girls selected from the 266 who auditioned.
They worked on the music throughout the summer, then attended two days full of rehearsals, activities, and events, including a Nov. 1 concert during the annual Wisconsin State Music Association conference. Sydney was featured as a soloist at that concert.
Registration for the 2026 State Honors Music Project opens soon! Interested students should speak with their music teacher or visit the WSMA website for more information.
Riverview also is represented at the State Honors Music Project by Riverview band teacher Mike Fedyszyn, who is serving a three-year term as brass section coach for the Middle Level Honors Orchestra.
