Back-to-school events set for Aug. 27-28

Plymouth School District students and their families are invited to attend back-to-school events to meet faculty and see classrooms before the first day of school!

School offices will be open during these events, so that families may pay fees and turn in supplemental forms. Families already should have completed the Skyward portion of registration; those who haven’t should do so as soon as possible.

Resource Fair

Sheboygan Outreach Collective is coordinating a Resource Fair for all district families from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 27 at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle. Attendees will have a chance to enter a drawing for gift cards.

Many community partners are expected to participate, including Mental Health America Lakeshore, State of Wisconsin Dept. of Workforce Development - Job Service, Safe Harbor of Sheboygan County, Lakeshore Community Health Care, St Vincent de Paul Plymouth & Plymouth Food Pantry, Sheboygan County Economic Support, Department of Public Instruction Migrant Education Program, and Panther ’Fits Student Sharing & Career Closet.

Elementary Sneak Peeks

Fairview, Horizon, and Parkview will have Sneak Peeks from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 28. Students and families can meet teachers, see classrooms, and drop off school supplies.

Riverview Sneak Peek

Riverview Middle School will have its annual Sneak Peek from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday Aug. 27. Students and families can meet teachers, see classrooms, and find lockers.

Also that evening:

  • Cross Country (open to grades 5-8) will have an informational meeting at 5 p.m. in the gym
  • Volleyball (open to girls in grades 7-8) will have an informational meeting at 6 p.m. in the gym

Plymouth High School

Plymouth High School will have its annual New Student Orientation from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Aug. 28, giving students and families a chance to meet teachers, learn about extracurriculars, and sample cafeteria fare.

Attendees should park in front of the school or in the student lot and enter the auditorium lobby (Door 1). The evening’s schedule is as follows:

  • 5 p.m.: Doors open; pick up schedules
  • 5:30 p.m.: Informational meeting in auditorium
  • 6 p.m.: Activities/Athletic Code meeting in auditorium
  • 6:15 p.m.: Report to Panther Time classroom
  • 6:45 p.m.: Open House
    • Find classrooms and meet teachers
    • Enjoy food in the cafeteria

First day of school

The first day of school for the 2024-25 school year is Tuesday Sept. 3, the day after Labor Day. Some exceptions:

  • Freshmen only at PHS on Tuesday Sept. 3; grades 10-12 begin Wednesday Sept. 4.
  • Grade 5 only at Riverview on Tuesday Sept. 3; grades 6-8 begin Wednesday Sept. 4.
  • Half of 4K and 5K students come Tuesday Sept. 3 and the other half come Wednesday Sept. 4, with all students attending on Thursday Sept. 5. (Families will be notified which day to begin.)
  • 3K students begin Monday Sept. 9 (Monday/Wednesday class) or Tuesday Sept. 10 (Tuesday/Thursday class).
