Looking back at PHS in 2001
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the graduation of the Plymouth High School Class of 2001. Here is a look back at its senior year!
Homecoming
Homecoming Week 2000 had a New Orleans theme and featured:
- Games, including big wheel races and a tug-of-war
- Dress-up days, including classy, pajamas, tie-dye, and Hawaiian
- Pep rally on Friday with a hypnotist and King & Queen crowning
- Parade on Friday including floats for each class, marching band, and Homecoming Court
- A 42-41 football victory over the Manitowoc Roncalli Jets on Friday
- Homecoming Dance on Saturday in the PHS Cafeteria
The Arts
Performing opportunities included:
- Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, German Band, Marching Band
- Freshman Chorus, Women’s Chorus, Mixed Chorus, Swing Choir
- Fall play “The Teahouse of the August Moon”
- One-act play “Tales of Chelm”
- Spring musical “State Fair”
- Cabaret
- Regional and State Solo & Ensemble competitions
Sports
WIAA sports included:
- Baseball
- Boys Basketball
- Boys Cross Country
- Boys Golf – conference & regional champions
- Boys Soccer – conference champion; went to State
- Boys Swimming & Diving – 7 to State
- Boys Tennis – conference champion
- Boys Track & Field
- Boys Wrestling – 1 to State
- Girls Basketball – regional champion
- Girls Cross Country
- Football
- Girls Soccer – conference champion
- Softball
- Girls Swimming & Diving – conference champion; 8 events to State
- Girls Tennis – conference champion; 6 players to State

The PHS faculty and staff included:

Other highlights
- PHS hosted five foreign-exchange students from Costa Rica, Germany (2), Norway, and Russia.
