Students benefit from spring school visitors

Posted June 8, 2026

A big thank-you to the dozens of community members who shared their time and expertise with Plymouth School District students this spring!

Plymouth High School

  • Many veterans were on hand April 10 to dedicate a new memorial plaque to the display of former students who made the ultimate sacrifice.
  • Susi Gómez Kennedy, manager of experiential learning and student employment at the Center for Student Experience and Talent and faculty fellow with the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies at UW-Milwaukee, led an engaging workshop April 23 for dual-credit art students and three Spanish classes centered on the influential Argentine artist León Ferrari. Students explored Ferrari’s work, examining themes of freedom, expression, and the role of art in social commentary. The interdisciplinary experience connected visual arts and world language studies, encouraging students to think about how culture, history, and artistic voice intersect.
  • Dozens of community members helped with the Reality Check simulation May 14.
  • PHS graduate Pria Joseph, student at UW-Madison, gave a presentation to Algebra 2 classes and Accelerated Algebra 2 classes in May about actuary sciences, including what an actuary does, tests that need to be passed, and classes to take in high school to help prepare for that field.
  • Dr. Lindley Reilly worked with the PHS Vet Science class on a dissection lab May 20.

Other schools

  • Fang, the Timber Rattlers mascot, visited Parkview on April 21.
  • Waldo State Bank employees visited Parkview on April 15.
  • PHS FFA members led an aquaphonics lesson with district fourth-graders in April.
  • Retired teacher Kathy Plahmer helped Parkview second-graders in Sarah Lee’s class create quilts to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.
  • Parkview welcomed Opera for the Young on May 15.
  • Cody Wisman, PHS band director, worked with eighth-graders May 29.
