Plymouth schools say goodbye to retirees

The Plymouth School District bids farewell to a number of faculty and staff who are retiring. Together they have 180 years of service to the district.

 

Gina Krueger-Grapentine

Years with this district: 36
Current title: Physical Education Teacher at Riverview Middle School
Career:
  • Appleton School District, 1989-90
  • Plymouth School District - Parnell, Fairview, Riverview and PHS, 1990-92
  • Riverview, 1992-2026
Plans for retirement: Spend time with family and friends, travel, play a little pickleball and relax. 
Anything else you want people to know: I have really enjoyed my time in the Plymouth School District. It has been an honor to work with so many great people and teaching middle school kids has truly been a wonderful adventure.

  • 4K: Horizon Elementary, 1999-2010
  • Second Grade: Horizon Elementary, 2010-2020
  • Virtual Schoolhouse: Grades 2-3, 2020-2021
  • Instructional Coach: 2021-2026
Plans for retirement: I am going to try to not have too many plans! I will be spending quality time with my family and friends, finding ways to give back to my church and community, and taking some time to just enjoy my "new normal."
Anything else you want people to know: I want to express my gratitude to the Plymouth School District for taking a chance on someone one year out of college and giving her so many opportunities to learn and grow in her profession. I am incredibly grateful for all of the fantastic colleagues I have been blessed to work alongside these past 34 years. It truly has been an honor to serve the families of our community with you!

Current title: Special Education Aide at Fairview Elementary School
Plans for retirement: I plan on doing more camping with my husband and my dogs. I will spend more time with my grandchildren and travel up north to my family's land. Try not to work too much at my other job, Songbird Pond. Living life one day at a time.

Plans for retirement: Spending time with family and friends, and traveling. Thinking of starting my own piñata-making business. :)
Anything else you want people to know: It has been an honor and a privilege to serve the students, families, and staff of Plymouth School District for the past 28 years. I am deeply grateful for the support, collaboration, and opportunities for growth that I have experienced during my time here. School counseling as a career has been incredibly rewarding, and I will always value the relationships I have built and the memories I have made in this school community.

Lisa Josephs

Current title: Grades 2-3 looping teacher at Parkview Elementary School

  • 17 years in the Howard-Suamico School District (11 years as a 1st & 2nd Grade Teacher and six years at a Literacy Specialist)
  • 14 years in the Plymouth School District (1st, 2nd, & 3rd Grade Teacher)

Plans for retirement: Being a teacher brought me so much joy, it's hard to picture life without teaching! My priorities have always been: God, family, friends, and teaching. As I navigate this new adventure, I look forward to spending time with family and friends, getting more involved in our church, traveling, reading, being active and mostly focusing on my health. One of my first goals is to learn how to hand knit. On Fridays this summer, you will find me at the Plymouth Art Center supporting my children in the Mill Street Live Show; come check it out, you'll love it!

  • traveled across the country in a van with carpeted walls in my youth
  • am a certified scuba diver
  • love crab cakes from the restaurant Bleu, which my cousin Brian owns
  • dressed up like a rapper when teaching kids how to answer questions for testing
  • chaperoned 10 high schoolers in New York City
  • toured many German castles
  • got locked in a bathroom at a campground and climbed out the window
  • have a matching tattoo with my daughter, Ella
  • touched Keith Urban's hand at a concert in Vegas
  • taught with the best teachers around
