PHS team advances to Wisconsin Student Chef Competition

Posted May 11, 2026

Congratulations to the Plymouth High School team selected to compete at the state level in the 14th annual Whipping Up Wellness Wisconsin Student Chef Competition!

Culinary students from around the state were invited to develop a nutritious, student-friendly recipe featuring local foods that can be incorporated easily into school food service programs.

The PHS Golden Grillers team of Johnathan Riley, Katherine Fischer, Hannah Schmid, and Marshall Westerman was named one of five finalists and has been invited to prepare their recipe for Golden Thai Sizzle on Thursday May 14 at Madison Area Technical College.

Students will compete in a live cook-off, preparing their dish and presenting it to judges. They also will showcase information about their recipe development and taste-test results.

PHS has been a state finalist in the Student Chef Competition every year since its inception in 2012.
