About Youth Apprenticeship

Youth Apprenticeship (YA) is a state-certified work-based learning program overseen by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development. Apprentices, who are high school juniors or seniors, are paid for working at least 450 hours during the school year in their chosen area, while also receiving high school credit. Northeast Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship (NEWYA), which serves PHS, offers more than 75 career pathways in 16 career clusters.
