Sneak peek at Community Ed & Rec summer offerings

Posted May 20, 2024

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation will offer a variety of classes for all ages this summer, including five new opportunities!

Registration will open at 10 a.m. Wednesday May 29, but you can get a sneak peek now at the Summer 2024 Course Guide. Printed copies of the guide will be available in the Community Ed & Rec office (enter Door 18 on the south end of Plymouth High School) beginning May 28 and later that week at locations throughout the community. Call or email with your address if you'd like us to mail you a copy.

Online registration via MyRec is preferred. If you have not already done so, please create a MyRec account now, so that you will be ready when registration opens. (We have to check residency and approve each account individually, so there will be a delay in your ability to register the morning of May 29 if you do not already have an account.)

If you need help creating a MyRec account, visit our office on the south end of Plymouth High School (Door 18) between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. weekdays. (Please note we will be closed Monday May 27 in recognition of Memorial Day.)

You can register in our office beginning at 10 a.m. May 29 using cash, check, or credit card. You also can print a registration form to mail to our office now with a check or bring to our office with check or exact cash, which will be processed in the order received as soon as possible once registration opens.

What’s new for Summer 2024?

  • Landscaping for Birds Bees & The Environment: Learn how you can transform your space into a natural haven for native birds and pollinators, and how the choices you make can either help or hurt the natural areas and critters.
  • Introduction to Watercolor Painting: This class will introduce budding watercolor artists ages 14+ to the basics of watercolor painting. Artists will learn about color theory, paint viscosity, & paper types, then create a beginner friendly art piece to take home.
  • Intro to Gluten Free: Take the sadness and fear out of this anti-inflammatory lifestyle by learning about the benefits, how to start, the basics of what it looks like on a daily basis, and some amazing local resources to make it still feel like you’re living rather than just dealing with it.
  • Watercolor 101 for Juniors: Children ages 5-8 (with a caregiver) will learn the basics of watercolor painting and color mixing, then create a beautiful piece of art to take home and display.
  • Watercolor 101 for Tweens: Children ages 9-13 will learn the basics of watercolor painting and color mixing, then create a beautiful piece of art to take home and display.
