Childcare available at schools this summer

Posted April 22, 2024

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation will offer all-day childcare for elementary school students again this summer.

Two age-appropriate programs are available:

  • Berry Branch: For children currently in 4K or 5K. Care is available 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Parkview Elementary School.
  • Extra Mile: For children currently in grades 1-4. Care is available 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Riverview Middle School, except during the hours that Summer School is in session (i.e. 8-11:45 a.m. Monday-Thursday June 17-July 18).

There is a nonrefundable registration fee of $50/child, which helps offset costs so families are not charged for days missed because of illness, vacation, etc. Fees are $5 per hour ($4 per hour for those attending Extra Mile three or more days a week).

How do I register?

Existing childcare members:  Visit the Child Care section of MyRec and register each child for Summer Child Care in Berry Branch or Extra Mile, as appropriate, and pay the $50 registration fee (or register for summer and fall and pay the $120 registration fee).

New families: Visit the Child Care section of MyRec and follow the steps below:
1. Create a MyRec account for your household, if you do not already have one.
2. Register each child for Summer Child Care in Berry Branch or Extra Mile, as appropriate, and pay the $50 registration fee (or register for summer and fall and pay the $120 registration fee).
3. Sign up for a Berry Branch or Extra Mile membership when prompted; this generates the scan code you will need going forward.
