Community invited to school spring shows

Parents, grandparents, and other community members are invited to experience the talents of Plymouth School District students at spring performances.

The following shows are free and open to the public. Performances are at Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., or Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle, unless otherwise indicated.

PHS Jazz Concert

7:30 p.m. Monday April 1 at Devour restaurant, 1611 Eastern Ave.
Featuring Plymouth High School Jazz I and Jazz II bands

Horizon Talent Show

6 p.m. Friday April 19 in the Riverview Auditorium

Fairview Spring Concerts

Grades K-2 at 6 p.m. and grades 3-4 at 7 p.m. Monday April 22 in the PHS Auditorium
Enjoy an evening of classics that showcases the talents of the young grades in Plymouth. Students will sing fun and familiar tunes, including "Over the Rainbow," "Africa," and many more unforgettable songs.

Parkview Spring Concerts

Grades K-2 at 6 p.m. and grades 3-4 at 7 p.m. Tuesday April 23 in the PHS Auditorium
The theme is “The Great Outdoors.” Students will sing songs and play ukuleles. 

Horizon Spring Concerts

Grades K-2 at 6 p.m. and grades 3-4 at 7 p.m. Thursday April 25 in the PHS Auditorium
Enjoy an evening of classics that showcases the talents of the young grades in Plymouth. Students will sing fun and familiar tunes, including "Over the Rainbow," "Africa," and many more unforgettable songs.

PHS Comedy Team Performance

7 p.m. Friday May 3 in the PHS Amphitheatre

Jolly Pranksters team members will play improvisational games, with audience participation highly encouraged and an integral part of the show.

5th-Grade Music Concert

6:30 p.m. Tuesday May 7 in the Riverview Auditorium

The concert has a theme of “Let's Rock”; students will sing songs and play drums to various rock songs.

6th- & 7th-Grade Band Concert

6:30 p.m. Thursday May 9 in the Riverview Auditorium

PHS Band Concert

7:30 p.m. Monday May 13 in the PHS Auditorium

Both Plymouth High School bands will perform a number of selections, and join together on stage for a combined tune.

8th-Grade Band & Choir Concert

6:30 p.m. Tuesday May 14 in the Riverview Auditorium

This concert will celebrate eighth-grade students and their time at Riverview Middle School! Students will perform pieces of remembrance; a brief awards ceremony will accompany the concert.

6th- & 7th-Grade Choir Concert

6:30 p.m. Thursday May 16 in the Riverview Auditorium

Seventh-graders will perform pieces sung at the Lakeland Choir Festival as well as a few pop songs. Sixth-graders will show off their vocal techniques and sing a song accompanied by some members of the local band Ric Tic.

PHS Cabaret Dessert Show

6-7 p.m. Friday May 17 in the PHS Cafeteria (new location)
Featuring selected solos, duets, and trios. Tickets are $5; available at the door

PHS Cabaret Night Show

7:30 p.m. Friday May 17 in the PHS Auditorium
This is a fan-favorite Pops concert! This year's theme is "Elemental," with songs centered around the four major elements - earth, wind, water, and fire. From Johnny Cash, Lady Gaga, Fall Out Boy, Billie Joel, Scorpians, Pentatonix, to Adele - there is literally something for everyone in this show! Dancing, singing, live band, and a light show - our entire choir program will perform for a little under an hour, followed by a Combo feature, and ending with the award-winning show by our competitive show choir, Momentum. Free admission.

Jazz in the Park

7 p.m. Wednesday May 22 in the Plymouth City Park
Plymouth High School Jazz I and Jazz II bands and Riverview Middle School jazz band will perform, with all three performing the last chart together.

"The Hallmarks of Horror"

7 p.m. Thursday May 30 and Friday May 31 in the PHS Amphitheatre
This year's Ampth Rats show, directed by students Addi Arnold and Thora Carpenter, is meant for all ages and makes fun of the silly tropes of horror movies. In addition, students from the current Drama 2/3 class will present a Playback Theatre performance before the show. Both shows will last a little over an hour in total.
