Many community members shared their time and expertise with Plymouth School District students this fall!
Elementary schools
- Tina Henrikson, retired Plymouth High School science teacher, visits Fairview kindergartners each week, helping with writing and projects. She also shares travel tidbits along with photos from a trip to Costa Rica, and gave the class a hand-painted rain stick she brought back for them.
Riverview Middle School
- Connie Lund, PHS family and consumer science teacher, taught knife skills to members of the Riverview FIRST Lego League team.
Plymouth High School
- Dozens of community members helped with the PHS Reality Check personal finance simulation Dec. 7.
- Carolyn Britt, PHS grad, talked to the PHS Illustration class about packaging design and related education and career paths.
- Dr. Lindley Reilly of Cedar Grove Veterinary Services visited the PHS Agriculture Careers and Leadership class in October.
- Mitchell Schmidt, a welding instructor at Lakeshore Technical College, instructed PHS Advanced Welding on tips, techniques, and best practices for passing a SMAW 1G 3-8 plate weld test.
Community Ed & Rec
- Nourish representatives shared the Harvest of the Month with students in child care.
- Brittni Diedrich conducted science experiments with 3K students in October.
