The Plymouth High School Drama Department is presenting “Clue,” a hilarious farce-meets-murder mystery based on the iconic 1985 Paramount movie, which was inspired by the classic Hasbro board game.
The play opens at a remote mansion, where six mysterious guests assemble for an unusual dinner party with murder and blackmail on the menu. When their host turns up dead, they all become suspects.
Led by Wadsworth the butler, Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Mrs. White, Mr. Green, Mrs. Peacock, and Colonel Mustard race to find the killer as the body count rises. Clue is a comedy whodunit that will leave cult fans and newcomers in stitches as they try to figure out who did it, where, and with what.
The play was written by Sandy Rustin based on the screenplay by Jonathan Lynn. The PHS production is directed by drama teacher Jack Colombo, with Rob Kraus and Mark Johnson as set builders and Scott Bunyea as the scenic designer.
Performances will begin at 7 p.m. nightly from Thursday Nov. 2 through Saturday Nov. 4, with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday Nov. 5, in the Acuity Auditorium at the school, 125 S. Highland Ave. General-seating tickets are $9 and will be available beginning Monday Oct. 30 in the PHS Office (enter Door 1G), as well as at the door.
