Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret

6pm Wednesday Sept. 20
In this adaptation of the Judy Blume book loved by millions, 11-year-old Margaret (Abby Ryder Fortson) is uprooted from her life in New York City for the suburbs of New Jersey, going through the messy and tumultuous throes of puberty with new friends in a new school. She relies on her mother, Barbara (Rachel McAdams), who also is struggling to adjust to life outside the big city, and her adoring grandmother, Sylvia (Kathy Bates), who isn’t happy they moved away and likes to remind them every chance she gets. (PG-13; 1 hour 46 minutes)

Bitterbrush

6pm Monday Oct. 30
This documentary follows two range riders as they spend the summer herding cattle in remote Idaho. Totally off the grid with only their dogs as companions, these young women brave inclement weather and perilous work conditions while pondering their futures. This is a portrait of friendship, life transitions, and skilled work in the isolated and beautiful landscape of the American West. (not rated; 1 hour 30 minutes)

Happiness for Beginners

6pm Wednesday Nov. 29
Based on a novel by Katherine Center, this is the tale of a newly divorced woman who joins a quirky group of strangers on a wilderness survival course for the “Adventure of a Lifetime” with the hope of learning how to live – and love – again. She discovers that sometimes you have to get really lost in order to find yourself. (PG-13; 1 hour 44 minutes)
