Opportunities for preschool & elementary kids offered

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering Swim Lessons, Friday Playgroup, FUNctional Kids Fitness, Rock Climb & Open Gym Play, and Dudes & Daughters Hair 101 this fall.

Friday Playgroup

For all ages! Join other parents and children at this parent-supervised free play. A brief activity also will be available.
Details: 9:30-11am 1st & 3rd Fridays Sept. 15-Dec. 15 (Sept. 15; Oct. 6 & 20; Nov. 3 & 17; Dec. 1 & 15) at Plymouth Youth Center, 609 North St.
Fee: $10/family

FUNctional Kids Fitness

Geared toward 3- to 5-year-olds, but parents and younger and/or older siblings are encouraged to participate. Participants will complete obstacle courses, work on balance activities, run races, and so much more.
Instructor: Heather Bassett, Certified Physical Trainer
Details: 10:45-11:30am 2nd & 4th Fridays Sept. 29-Dec. 22 (except Nov. 24) at Plymouth Youth Center, 609 North St.
Fee: $15

Child Swim Lessons

For ages 6 and up who are at least 50 inches tall. Classes follow the American Red Cross courses.
Instructor: Beth Kerntke
Details: Saturdays Sept. 30-Dec. 9 (except Nov. 4, 25; Dec. 2)
-9:30-10:15am: Level 1
-10:15-11am: Level 2
-11-11:45am: Levels 3 & 4
Fee: $44 until Sept. 17, then $54

Rock Climb & Open Gym

For families with children ages 5 & up. Our indoor vertical wall has 4 runs from basic to advanced with straight climbs and an overhang to challenge everyone. While waiting to climb, kids can play in the gym.

Details: 10-11:30am Saturday Oct. 28 in the Riverview Gym
Fee: $10/person until Oct. 15; contact us for family rate

Dudes & Daughters Hair 101

For children ages 5-12 years with an adult. Learn the basics of hairstyling: braiding, French braiding, Dutch braiding, top knot, space buns. Bring a hairbrush, a spray bottle, and clean hair.
Instructor: Elisa Wierman, owner of Mona Elisa Salon
Details: 6-7:15pm Monday Nov. 6 in the Horizon Library
Fee: $12/pair

• Online (preferred): plymouthwi.myrec.com (If you have not done so already, you will need to create a MyRec account; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our current offerings.)
• By mail: Download the printable registration form and send it to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
• In person: Registrations are accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays in our office on the south end of Plymouth High School. Park in the visitor lot in front of the school and enter at Door 18.
