Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering many more wellness classes and other opportunities this autumn!
Forty percent of adult Americans are insulin resistant and may not even know it. Attend this workshop to learn why a balanced blood sugar is important, how to make sustainable and realistic adjustments to your own ways of eating to improve your blood sugar, and of course, sample a few of favorite snacks that help maintain a stable blood sugar throughout the day.

Spend an hour assembling 4 freezer meals to feed 4-6 people. When you’re ready to eat, add another ingredient or two and your choice of protein. Includes veggies, spices, herbs, bags, recipes, etc.

Health is determined by your internal environment! Discover how to promote your health with immunity-boosting tips, learn about terrain versus the Germ Theory of natural healing, and participate in the hands-on preparation of immunity-increasing foods. Resources provided with handouts during class.

Learn Qigong, developed in ancient China as part of traditional Chinese medicine. Qigong helps to improve your health and bring serenity to your mind and spirit. No previous experience necessary. Comfortable clothes. Shoes optional. An exercise mat is recommended.

Sugar is sugar is sugar – or is it? Learn about the different names for sugar, get your questions answered about sweeteners, and learn how to make sugar free candy just in time for holiday treats!

This fun, comprehensive soap-making class will cover the myriad ways to add herbs to soap, as well as how to make a creamy, moisturizing farm-fresh bar of goat milk soap. Class will cover the qualities of herbs to add for their healing and moisturizing qualities, as well as three approaches to soap making: hot process, cold process, and hand milling. In addition to making soap, participants also will learn to felt soap and to add loofah sponges for exfoliation as well as additional nourishing skin qualities. Participants will leave with many bars of soap to cure at home, a recipe guide, and skills for a lifetime.

Learn to make cultured butter, yogurt, kefir, and fresh cheese at home. This class combines discussion with demonstrations and hands-on experiences making cultured milk products and several varieties of cheese. Samples and recipes will be provided along with all supplies.

This magical make-and-take workshop is perfect for the budding herbalist or the experienced medicine maker looking for some inspiration. You will take home 8+ herbal preparations that you can gift to loved ones over the holidays, including body spray, lip balm, felted soap, herbal condiments, herbal bath soak, lotion bar, dream pillow, and tea blend.
