Community Ed & Rec offering food classes

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering several food-related activities this autumn!

Classes meet in the culinary arts classrooms at Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave. Please register in advance anytime via the MyRec online registration system or from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays in the Community Ed & Rec office, located just inside PHS Door 18.

Freezer Meal Workshop

Spend an hour assembling 4 freezer meals to feed 4-6 people. When you’re ready to eat, add another ingredient or two and your choice of protein. Includes veggies, spices, herbs, bags, recipes, etc.

Cozy Crockpot: Sweet Barbacoa Street Tacos, Greek Lemon Orzo Soup, Lasagna Soup, Philly-Style Cheesesteaks

Focaccia & Hearty Squash Bisque Experience – NEW!

The term focaccia comes from the Latin “focus” – that is: “cooked on fire.” Learn the art of creating Focaccia bread with three flavorings and sample results of the savory and the sweet. Meanwhile, stir up winter squash bisque/soup for a hearty cold weather meal. Step-by-step instructions and resources provided.

Home Creamery

Learn to make cultured butter, yogurt, kefir, and fresh cheese at home. This class combines discussion with demonstrations and hands-on experiences making cultured milk products and several varieties of cheese. Samples and recipes will be provided along with all supplies.
