Area middle-school students can join the Youth Center, participate in intramurals, work out in the Community Fitness Center at Plymouth High School, and join the Riverview Robotics Team. Riverview students also can participate in the fall musical.
The Youth Center is open to all area students in grades 5-8, including those attending parochial schools. Located next to Riverview Middle School at 609 North St., the center is open after school until 5pm on regular school days with at least one adult present at all times.
Memberships cost $60/year, $30/trimester, or $15/month. If financial assistance is necessary, please contact Community Education & Recreation. Registration is handled by using the MyRec online registration system. (Parents/guardians will need to create a MyRec account, if they do not already have one.)

Intramurals are open to all area students in grades 5-6, including those who are homeschooled or attending parochial schools.
Intramurals offers a variety of physical activities to accommodate different levels of skill and interests. The focus is on the enjoyment of physical activities, rather than the pressure to compete and win, as in competitive athletics.
Participants will enjoy the benefits of movement, develop positive attitudes, increase self-esteem and positive social interactions, and broaden their skill, fitness and leisure choices.
Instructor: Gina Krueger, Riverview P.E. teacher
Details: 2:45-3:30pm select days Sept. 12-Oct. 30 in Riverview Gym
Fee: Free, but participants must be registered via MyRec

Students in grades 5-8 living in the district or attending our schools can use the Fitness Center for free if accompanied by a parent/guardian (who must have their own Fitness Center membership if they also work out). Exception: Students in grades 7-8 may use the facility independently after they have successfully completed our Middle-School Lifting program.
Students must be registered for a free student membership via MyRec by a parent/guardian. Once students have a membership, they will need to download their member barcode onto their phone, or print and laminate it, so that they can scan the code each time they come.
Student hour is from 3 to 4 p.m. weekdays during the school year; students may ride any of the school buses from Riverview to PHS. Students also are welcome anytime during public hours (5-7:30 a.m. and 3-7 p.m. weekdays and 7-1 a.m. Saturdays).

The team meets 6:30-8pm Tuesdays in the Riverview Tech Ed/STEAM room (Room 113).
