Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is showing the Free Film “The Boys in the Boat” this summer.
This PG-13 film tells the inspirational true story of the University of Washington rowing team’s quest to compete in the 1936 Summer Olympics, depicting a group of underdogs who take on elite rivals from around the world at the height of the Great Depression.
The film, released in 2023, is based on the 2013 New York Times bestselling non-fiction novel of the same name written by Daniel James Brown, which was chosen by One Book One Community – The Plymouth Chapter as its 2016 community book read selection.
The movie will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday July 31 in the auditorium at Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave. (enter Door 1). Please note that food and drink are not allowed in the auditorium.
Admission is free, but please register by Monday July 29 so we know there is enough interest to show the film. You can register online via MyRec, by emailing commedrec@plymouth.k12.wi.us, or by calling 920-892-5068.
