PHS hosting Alumni Basketball Tournament

Posted March 18, 2024

Two Plymouth High School graduates are organizing an Alumni Basketball Tournament, which they hope to make an annual event.

The tournament, which is being coordinated by 2018 grads Cade Knaus and Brady Petrie, will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday March 30 in the PHS Gym. Entry fee is $150 per team, with proceeds going to the Jeff Petrie Scholarship Fund.

“Mr. Petrie was a key member of the Plymouth Community from being a teacher at Riverview Middle School to an influential component with Plymouth Youth Sports,” organizers said. “What better way to bring the community together and help donate to his scholarship than a basketball tournament, a sport which Mr. Petrie adored.”

The tournament is open to anyone who attended a school in the Plymouth School District for at least one year; they did not have to play basketball in high school. Current seniors – the Class of 2024 – also are eligible to participate.

Team captains should complete the Plymouth High School Alumni Basketball Tournament Sign Up form. They are asked to try to coordinate a team from their graduating class first. If unable to compile a full roster, then classes can be combined.
