Middle-school Golf, Tennis, Track & Field begin soon

Area middle-school students are encouraged to participate in Golf, Tennis, or Track & Field this spring!

These sports are open to all area students in the appropriate grades, including those who are homeschooled or attending parochial schools. Informational meetings will be held as indicated at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle.

Track & Field

Track & Field, open to grades 7-8, represents Riverview in competition with area middle schools and is coached by PHS teacher Kamie Gritt, Riverview teachers Tyler Gruett and Tianna Engel, and Stephanie Bruce.

An informational meeting for players and/or parents/guardians will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday March 20 in the Riverview Cafeteria. Registration via MyRec and the Physical Evaluation Form are due Sunday March 31.

Practices will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. beginning Wednesday April 3 at Plymouth High School. (Athletes can ride any bus from Riverview to PHS after school.) Meets will be held between April 18 and May 10, with qualifiers ending the season at the Middle-School State Championship on Saturday May 18 in Waupun.

Tennis

Tennis, open to students in grades 7-8, represents Riverview in competition with area middle schools and is coached by Jesse Frausto.

An informational meeting for players and/or parents/guardians will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday April 2 in the cafeteria at Riverview Middle School, 300 Riverside Circle. Registration via MyRec and the Physical Evaluation Form are due Sunday April 7.

First practice will be 3 to 4 p.m. Monday April 8 on the PHS tennis courts. (Athletes can ride any bus from Riverview to PHS after school.)

Golf

Golf, open to students in grades 6-8, is coached by Riverview teachers Dave Scheel and Maggie Brill.

An informational meeting for players and/or parents/guardians will begin at 3 p.m. Wednesday April 3 in Riverview Room 217. Registration via MyRec and the Physical Evaluation Form are due Sunday April 14.

Participants will golf at Evergreen Golf Course from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning April 16 or 23 (depending upon when Evergreen opens) through May 23. (Athletes can ride any bus from Riverview to PHS after school.)

Registration

Registration for all three opportunities is handled by Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation.

Students must be registered before they can participate, via the MyRec registration system. (Parents/guardians will need to create a MyRec account, if they do not already have one.) In addition, all participants must have a Physical Evaluation Form on file signed by a doctor after March 31, 2022.

Fee is $20 per sport (plus a $50 greens fee for Golf); please contact Community Ed & Rec if financial assistance is necessary.
