Community Ed & Rec offers classes for students

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering Home Alone, Babysitting, and Middle-School Lifting for students this fall!

Home Alone

For grades 3-6. Children who spend time home without an adult will gain a knowledge of safety concepts, such as how to use 911, what to do if the lights go out, and how to handle small emergencies.
Instructor: Denise Roth, Riverview reading specialist
Details: 4-5:30pm Monday Oct. 16 & Tuesday Oct. 17 in the library at Fairview Elementary School
Fee: $25 until Oct. 8, then $35

Babysitting Clinic

For grades 5-8 (ages 10+). Learn to be a better babysitter and earn a certificate of completion to show prospective clients.
Instructor: Denise Roth, Riverview reading specialist
Details: 3-5pm Monday Oct. 23 & Tuesday Oct. 24 in the library at Riverview Middle School
Fee: $29 until Oct. 15, then $39

Middle-School Lifting

For grades 7-8. Learn the basics of athletic-based fitness training and develop speed, explosiveness, agility, strength, & conditioning. Participants who successfully complete the program and pass the Free Weight Safety Test can work out independently in the Plymouth High School Fitness Center.
Instructor: Christian Vollbrecht, Riverview physical education teacher
Details: 2:45-4pm Mondays/Wednesdays or Tuesdays/Thursdays Nov. 27-Jan. 11 in the Riverview Fitness Center
Fee: Free, but participants must register in advance

Online (preferred): plymouthwi.myrec.com (If you have not done so already, you will need to create a MyRec account; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our current offerings.)
By mail: Download the printable registration form and send it to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
In person: Registrations are accepted from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays in our office on the south end of Plymouth High School. Park in the visitor lot in front of the school and enter at Door 18.
