Free Films & Around Our Town tours offered soon

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering two Around Our Town tours and two community films this autumn!

Around Our Town tours

Community members ages 18+ are invited to join our field trips for adults! Tours are free, but you must register in advance because space is limited. You can register online via MyRec or by calling 920-892-5068.

Parkview Elementary School

Get a sneak peek inside of one of Plymouth’s elementary schools.

Kurtz Ersa Inc.

Take a tour of the Plymouth location of Kurtz Ersa Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Kurtz GmbH & Co. KG, a globally active technology group. The company’s origins are in the Spessart region of Germany, near Frankfurt. Kurtz was founded in 1779 with the main operation of blacksmithing using a water propelled forge hammer for the shaping of metal (i.e. bell clappers and farming tools). Today, Kurtz Ersa produces and sells foaming and casting machines as well as soldering systems and tools for the electronics industry.

“Adventures of Huck Finn”

Mischievous Huck Finn (Elijah Wood) is unnerved when his father (Ron Perlman), reemerging after years away, kidnaps him in an attempt to take away a $600 inheritance from his late mother. Fearing for his life, Huck fakes his own death and escapes. He soon runs into his friend, Jim (Courtney B. Vance), a slave fleeing his master. Together, the pair embark on a raft journey down the Mississippi River, staying ahead of pursuers who blame the slave for Huck's alleged murder. Offered in conjunction with the One Book One Community Book Read. (1993 version; PG)

“Radical”

A teacher in a Mexican border town full of corruption and violence tries a radical new method to unlock students' curiosity and potential – and maybe even genius. This movie is in Spanish, with subtitles. (PG-13)
