Community wellness classes begin soon

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering a variety of wellness classes this autumn, including four new ones: Yoga Nidra, MyoYin for Athletes, MyoYin for Office Workers, and Mind & Body Recharge: Brain + Immune Boost!

Understanding Medicare

Learn more about the U.S. national health insurance program for senior citizens.
Instructor: Mary Kempf of Sheboygan County Aging and Disability Resource Center
Details: 5:30-8:30pm Wednesday Oct. 1 in the PHS Library

Lifestyle & Mental Health in Youth & Teens

Join a conversation about the positive effects that exercise, supplements, and other lifestyle choices can have on ADHD, anxiety, & depression and how they can reduce reliance on pharmaceuticals.

MyoYin for Athletes - NEW

Blends targeted myofascial release with long, passive Yin stretches to support mobility, recovery, and injury prevention. This workshop is designed to relieve muscle tension, improve range of motion, and enhance athletic performance. Includes a pair of RAD Recovery Rounds so you can keep your body game-ready at home.

Refuse To Be a Victim

This 2-night class teaches basic principles for crime prevention and personal safety.

MyoYin for Office Workers - NEW

This deeply relaxing workshop is designed to counter the aches and stiffness of desk life. We’ll use therapy balls for gentle muscle release, then sink into calming stretches. Includes a pair of RAD Recovery Rounds to keep the relief going at home or at your desk.

Mind & Body Recharge: Brain + Immune Boost - NEW!

Discover how to boost your best thinking and doing through simple, science-backed strategies. In this interactive class, you’ll explore brain-boosting exercises and learn how to choose the most nourishing foods for cognitive health and overall well-being. You’ll also craft your own personalized action plan for lasting success. Come ready to sample delicious, nutrient-dense foods — arrive curious and hungry, and leave empowered with practical tools to live your best life.

Yoga Nidra - NEW

A guided meditation practice that takes you into a state between wakefulness and sleep. Unlike typical meditation, Yoga Nidra is practiced lying down, allowing the body to fully relax while the mind remains conscious and aware. Thai ancient practice, accessible to all levels of practitioners, promotes deep relaxation and rest. Bring: blankets or pillows to make yourself more comfortable.

How do I register?

  • Online: If possible, please register online via MyRec, which carries no service fee and offers immediate confirmation. (You first will need to create a MyRec account, if you have not already done so; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our offerings going forward.)
  • In person: You can register in our office, where we will help set up your MyRec account and can accept cash, check, and credit cards. Park in the visitor lot in front of Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., and enter Door 18 on the south end of the building. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays this summer).
  • By mail: While MyRec registration is preferred, you still can print a registration form to mail with a check to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
