Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering three new ways to get creative this summer!

Photography 101 - NEW!

Want to take better photos — whether with your phone or a camera you haven’t used in a while? This laid-back, hands-on series of 3 classes is a great way to get creative and learn the basics of photography. You’ll explore how to see the world like a photographer, go on short photo walks, and try out easy techniques to improve your shots. You’ll get to practice every class, so bring a phone or camera you’re comfortable using, and wear shoes good for walking.
Instructor: Julia Kemmett
Details: 5:30-7:30pm in PHS Room C118
-Monday July 21: Finding Inspiration & Composition Basics: Discover what inspires your eye through mood board creation and learn essential composition techniques such as rule of thirds, leading lines, and framing. Practice taking more thoughtful, balanced images during a photo walk.
-Tuesday July 22: Exposure Basics & Tips for Portrait Photography: Learn how light, shutter speed, aperture, and ISO work together to create a well-exposed image—even on a phone. Then explore the art of photographing people with posing tips and natural lighting tricks, and practice portraits with classmates.
-Wednesday July 23: Editing Basics, Tips on Landscape Photography, & Showcase: Explore mobile editing tools to enhance your photos with color correction, cropping, and exposure adjustments. Then dive into landscape photography tips, followed by a final mini showcase where everyone shares their favorite shots from the course.
