Childcare available at schools this summer

Posted April 21, 2025

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation will offer all-day childcare for elementary school students again this summer.

Two age-appropriate programs are available:

  • Berry Branch: For children currently in 4K or 5K; at Horizon Elementary School
  • Extra Mile: For children currently in grades 1-4; at Fairview Elementary School

Care is available 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays, except during the hours that Summer School is in session (i.e. 8-11:45 a.m. Monday-Thursday June 16-July 17), so that students may participate in that program.

There is a nonrefundable registration fee of $75/child for summer care or $150/child for summer and 2025-26 school year care. (Registration fees help offset costs so families are not charged for days missed because of illness, vacation, etc.) Hourly fees are $5 for Berry Branch and $4.50 for Extra Mile.

How do I register?

Existing childcare families:  Visit the Child Care section of MyRec and register each child for summer care or summer and school year, and pay the appropriate registration fee.

New families: Visit the Child Care section of MyRec and follow the steps below:
1. Create a MyRec account for your household, if you do not already have one.
2. Register each child for summer care or summer and school year, and pay the appropriate registration fee.
3. Sign up for a Berry Branch or Extra Mile membership when prompted. (This generates the scan code you will need going forward.)
