Many community members and others shared their time and expertise with Plymouth School District students this autumn!
Elementary schools
- Plymouth firefighters visited 3K students Oct. 7 and 8.
- Cindy Haase shared her book “Dior's Dog Show Day” with Parkview third-graders Oct. 15.
- John Roehre, retired Parkview custodian and bicycling enthusiast, spoke with Parkview second-graders Nov. 4 about the parts of a bicycle and bicycle safety.
- Nourish visited Fairview classrooms Nov. 13 to talk about sweet potatoes.
Riverview Middle School
- Numerous business leaders served as judges for the MINI Business World competition for 8th-graders held Nov. 14.
Plymouth High School
- National Guard members visited PHS Food Science classes Oct. 1 to talk about Meals Ready to Eat.
- Dr. Rhonda Maas of Kettle Moraine Veterinary Clinic visited the PHS Vet Science class Oct. 15.
- Vet Science students brought their animals – including Maizy the dog, Rosie the cow, and Yankee the bird – to help demonstrate proper ways to safely approach, handle, and restrain them.
- The Schultz family brought 8-week-old beagle puppies to the PHS Vet Science class in October.
- HHT A-Cappella Barbershop worked with PHS choir students Oct. 16.
- Emma Exner, social worker and foster care coordinator for Sheboygan County Health and Human Services, talked Dec. 6 with Allison Schwartz’s American Literature class, which recently read “Orphan Train.” She discussed the current foster care system and how it has changed over the past 100 years.
