All-levels wrestling info meeting Oct. 8

Parents/guardians of students in grades K-12 who are interested in wrestling are invited to an informational meeting Tuesday Oct. 8.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Plymouth High School cafeteria, 125 S. Highland Ave., and is open to students and/or parents and guardians. Coach Andrew Crivellone will share information about wrestling opportunities at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.

Plymouth High School

Participants represent the Panthers in competitions with area high schools and in the WIAA tournament series.
Who: Open to students in grades 9-12
First practice: Monday Nov. 18 in the PHS Wrestling Room
Season: Dec. 3-March 8
How to participate: Bring the required athletic forms to the PHS office before the first practice. Fee is covered by the $85 student activity fee collected at registration.

Riverview Middle School

Participants represent Riverview in competitions with area middle schools.
Who: Open to all area students in grades 5-8, including those who are homeschooled or attending parochial schools
First practice: Monday Jan. 20
Season: Feb. 18-March 10
How to participate: Register via the MyRec online registration system by Jan. 21. (Parents/guardians will need to create a MyRec account, if they do not already have one.) In addition, all participants must have a current Physical Evaluation Form (i.e. signed by a doctor after a physical no earlier than April 1, 2023) on file with Community Education & Recreation, which handles registration. Fee is $20; contact Community Ed & Rec if financial assistance is necessary.

Plymouth Area Wrestling (PAW)

Participants learn to wrestle and develop a love for the sport of wrestling.
Who: Open to all area students in grades K-4, including those who are homeschooled or attending parochial schools
Season: Begins Monday Dec. 9
How to participate: Watch for registration to open soon in the MyRec online registration system. (Parents/guardians will need to create a MyRec account, if they do not already have one.) Fee is $30.
