Plymouth School District child care is offering 3-year-old kindergarten for the 2024-25 school year!

Plymouth 3K, which debuted in January 2022, features:

  • Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum, which aligns with the district 4K curriculum and develops phonemic awareness skills, letter and sound recognition, and language awareness.
  • Age-appropriate social and emotional development.
  • Fun and play-based learning opportunities.

Classes are taught by Shaunna Renzelmann, a DPI-certified teacher who holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Lakeland University and has taught 3K and 4K for years.

Students must be potty-trained and at least 3 years old as of Sept. 1, 2024. Parents can choose either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday classes, which will meet from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. – half an hour longer! – at Horizon Elementary School, 411 S. Highland Ave. Classes begin Sept. 9/10 and end May 21/22, with no classes during the weeks of Nov. 25, Dec. 23, Dec. 30, and March 24.

The program is operated by Community Education & Recreation. Families should register online via MyRec as soon as possible. The fee is $1,100 for the school year, with a minimum of $900 due at registration and the balance by Nov. 1.
