Community can sample workouts at new Fit Saturdays

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering a new Fall Fitness Sampler Series this autumn to let you try different kinds of workouts!

October Fit Saturday: dance

Saturday October 18

  • 9:15-9:45am: SHiNE – This dance fitness workout utilizes current hit music and choreography combines jazz, ballet, and hip hop moves with calisthenics in a HIIT format for a full-body workout.
  • 9:45-10:45am: Line Dancing – This beginner class is a fun and easy way to learn partner-free, basic dance steps in a group setting, with everyone moving in lines, typically facing the same direction, to choreographed routines set to a wide variety of music genres including country and disco.

November Fit Saturday: boxing

Saturday November 8

  • 9:15-10am: Boxing
  • 10-10:45am: Kickboxing – Set to the beat of the music, this class will guide participants through basic kickboxing combinations while incorporating hand weights, planks, and ab work to improve body stability, engage multiple muscle groups, and build overall core strength.

December Fit Saturday: mind/body wellness

Saturday December 6

  • 9:15-10am: Yoga – Move through poses in a way that works for your body, feeling what is right for where you are at physically.
  • 10-10:45am: Sound Bath – This holistic wellness practice combines gentle yoga or guided relaxation with the immersive vibrations of sound instruments to promote physical and mental well-being.

All classes meet in the PHS Studio. Fee is $8/person/Saturday. You can register anytime online via MyRec or 8am-4pm weekdays in the office, located inside Door 18 on the south end of the building.
