Community creative classes begin soon

Plymouth School District Community Education & Recreation is offering several ways to develop your creativity this autumn, including three new classes: Instant Piano for Busy People, Holiday Wreath Building, and Leather Earring Making!
Bouquet Building
This hands-on class lets you experience The Art of Agriculture in full bloom. Using flowers grown locally and lovingly at Airy Point Farms, you’ll learn the fundamentals of floral design, including arrangement techniques, color selection, and seasonal styling. Whether you’re a beginner or a flower enthusiast, this creative workshop is a joyful way to connect with nature, nurture your artistic side, and take home a beautiful, handcrafted bouquet in a pumpkin vase! All supplies included.

Instant Piano for Busy People - NEW!
For ages 13+. In this online course, you will learn to play piano in the comfort of your own home using your own piano or keyboard. You will learn to use chords, plus enough secrets of the trade to give you years of musical enjoyment. Class will blend lecture/demonstration with hands-on activities. Participants will receive a recording of the class after completion, an online book, follow-up video lessons, and an optional online question-and-answer session, so they can keep improving.

Woodworking
Build personal projects using tools in the PHS woods lab. New participants work closely with the instructor; experienced participants may work independently.

Fee: $90 (seniors* $72) through Sept 22, then $100 ($82) (plus the cost of materials used)

Holiday Wreath Building - NEW!
Experience the beauty of nature and creativity in this hands-on wreath-making class, featuring locally grown blooms and greenery from Airy Point Farms. You'll learn the fundamentals of floral design as applied to wreath construction — covering techniques for building a balanced base, layering textures, selecting seasonal colors, and crafting a cohesive design. Whether you're a beginner or a flower enthusiast, this workshop offers a joyful way to connect with the land, explore your artistic side, and create a one-of-a-kind wreath to take home and enjoy. All materials and supplies are included.

Leather Earring Making - NEW!
Calling all jewelry lovers and DIY enthusiasts! Join a fun, hands-on workshop where you'll learn to create your own stunning, handcrafted leather earrings. From bold statement pieces to everyday styles, you’ll leave with beautiful accessories that are uniquely you. No experience needed — just bring your creativity!

How do I register?
- Online: If possible, please register online via MyRec, which carries no service fee and offers immediate confirmation. (You first will need to create a MyRec account, if you have not already done so; once we verify residency and approve the account, you can register for any of our offerings going forward.)
- In person: You can register in our office, where we will help set up your MyRec account and can accept cash, check, and credit cards. Park in the visitor lot in front of Plymouth High School, 125 S. Highland Ave., and enter Door 18 on the south end of the building. Our office is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays (9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays this summer).
- By mail: While MyRec registration is preferred, you still can print a registration form to mail with a check to Community Ed & Rec, 125 S. Highland Ave., Plymouth WI 53073.
