Free child developmental screenings available

Posted February 24, 2025

Free developmental screenings are being offered soon for area children ages 6 months through 5 years, thanks to a community partnership.

The benefits of screening young children include:

  • Recognition of developmental achievements
  • Support for school-readiness skills
  • Early detection of potential developmental delays

Screenings cover language, problem solving, personal-social interaction, and fine and large motor skills. (Hearing and vision screening also may be available; call 920-892-6706 for more information.) In addition, extensive information on parenting and community resources will be available at the screenings.

The next screenings will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday March 6 and from 8 a.m. to noon Friday March 7 at Generations, 1500 Douglas Drive. Screenings are free, but pre-registration is required by Tuesday March 4.

The screenings are coordinated by the Sheboygan County Community Partnership for Children with support from Plymouth School District, Family Resource Center, and others.
