Community can walk PHS halls & indoor track

Posted November 4, 2024

Looking for indoor exercise now that the weather has turned cooler? Community members can walk the hallways and indoor track at Plymouth High School for free!

The following options are available on regular school days:
Before school:
Track: 5:30-7 a.m. through March 21
After school:
Track: 4-7 p.m. (ends at 6 p.m. Fridays) through March 21
Halls: 3-8 p.m. (ends at 6 p.m. Fridays) through April 25

Participants should park in the visitor lot in front of the addition or in the student lot south of the building and enter Door 18 (Community Ed & Rec/District entrance). No pre-registration is necessary and walking is free, but be sure to sign the roster located outside the Fitness Center each visit to help gauge interest in this activity.

New this year: If you want to walk the indoor track, one member of your party needs to pick up an access badge from the Fitness Center attendant (and leave something valuable – keys, phone, ID, etc. – as collateral). Please do not let unaccompanied students into the multipurpose facility.

In addition, please help protect the indoor track surface by observing the following:

  • Participants must wear athletic shoes in the multipurpose facility.
  • Limit wheels – strollers, walkers, wheelchairs, etc. – to the hallways.
  • Food and gum are not allowed in the multipurpose facility. Plain water in covered containers is allowed, but no flavored water or other beverages as they may stain the surface.

Also, be aware that PHS and community sports teams use the multipurpose facility extensively, so be alert for wayward balls, etc.
