Cemetery Walk to feature PHS drama students

Posted May 8, 2023

Plymouth High School drama students again will participate in the Union Cemetery Walk presented by the Plymouth Historical Society.

The event, open to the public, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday May 21. Admission is free, though donations are always appreciated. Brochures will be available at both the Division Street and Forest Avenue entrances.

Attendees can walk through the cemetery at their leisure; the tour will take about an hour to complete. Along the way, students in period clothing will share information drawn from Plymouth Historical Society research about the lives of famers, bankers, housewives, and many others who once called Plymouth home.

Union Cemetery was established Nov. 27, 1854, with the first burial having occurred two years prior, in 1852. Many early Plymouth settlers repose in this tranquil 4-acre parcel.
