3K registration now open for 2022-23

Posted February 14, 2022

The Plymouth School District child-care programs will be offering their new 3-year-old kindergarten for the full 2022-23 school year.

Plymouth 3K, which debuted in January 2022, features:

  • Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Curriculum, which aligns with the district 4K curriculum and develops phonemic awareness skills, letter and sound recognition, and language awareness.
  • Age-appropriate social and emotional development.
  • Fun and play-based learning opportunities.

Classes are taught by Shaunna Renzelmann, a DPI-certified teacher who holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Lakeland University. She has taught 3K and 4K for years and has been Extra Mile Child Care coordinator at Fairview Elementary School for the past two years.

Students must be potty-trained and at least 3 years old as of Sept. 1, 2022. Parents can choose either Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday classes, which will meet from 8:30 to 11 a.m. at Horizon Elementary School, 411 S. Highland Ave. 3K will begin the week of Sept. 12 and run through the week of May 22, with no classes during the weeks of Nov. 21, Dec. 26, Jan. 2, and March 20.

The fee is $900 for the entire year, with a minimum of $300 due at registration, another $300 by Aug. 1, and the balance by Nov. 1. Enrollment is limited, so families are encouraged to register as soon as possible.
